How we spent the funds raised

We are committed to spending the money on activities that will directly benefit the children and enhance their learning as well as aid the teacher’s through this process. Sometimes this could be through playground enhancement or toys for the younger years’ outside space. At other times it could be a contribution to the curriculum or classroom resources. Generally, the PTA funds are for extras not provided by the school budget. We try to consult with teachers at least once a term to find out what they could use for the classroom and then we agree key funding with the leadership team.

This school year, (2015-2016), the PTA has funded:

Subscription to First News (the award winning newspaper for children)

Numicon Maths Rescource – supplied to all children in Year 1

Years 5/6 Girls’ and Boys’ Football Team Kit  (funded by direct parental donation)

Year 6 T shirts – designed  by the children

School photograph of every child

Nursery/Reception Gradation Sashes

Thornhill Teddy Bears for new starters

New staffroom crockery and cutlery as thank you for teachers

Additionally, the Cake Sales raise on average £200 for each year group. This year we asked the teachers for a “wish list” of where they could best use the additional monies.

This was how our Cake Sale money was spent this year:
