30 Apr Minor Illnesses and Attendance

Please may we remind you of the importance of good school attendance. At Thornhill we expect all children to attend at least 96% of the time.

We understand that as a parent, it can be difficult to decide whether or not your child is well enough to go to school (even more so during these current COVID-times). To help avoid unnecessary school absences, Islington School Nursing has produced a leaflet as a general guide to help you decide whether your child is well enough to attend school when they have a minor illness. Please have a read through it as it provides lots of useful information and advice on how we can all work together to ensure the best possible school attendance for your child/ren.

Page 10 is particularly useful as it provides guidance on some common childhood illnesses, and whether children need to stay off school.
