25 Feb A poem from Muriel Street Care Home

Following year 6’s weekly visit to Muriel Street Care Home, a resident wrote this beautiful poem:

Muriel Street has a treat in store

Friday comes and we open the door

And in they come with faces fresh

Ready to cheer us residents at rest

Our nimble fingers are not so quick

But youngsters yes they do the trick

Our memories they are very few

Even when we require the loo

But when we try with all our might

Yes there it comes a wee bright light

Our tears they fall and then a smile

Remembering how we would walk a mile

But now the time for a fond farewell

And thank you all for a day so swell

And perhaps you will come another day

Make it Friday if you may.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE GIRLS AND BOYS FROM THORNHILL SCHOOL

FROM ALL THE RESIDENTS AT MURIEL STREET CARE HOME

By Mrs June Pile
